In honor of our anniversary today, we wanted to share some details of our eerie enchanted wedding that took place at Phipps Conservatory in Pittsburgh three years ago!
The invitation concept was hand drawn by maid of honor Adrienne Rozzi of Poison Apple Printshop. The design elements were then used to create custom table numbers, directional signage, and a coordinating wedding website.
Inspired by the dreamy, surreal, and slightly strange world that Tim Burton creates in his films, Nina wanted to incorporate elements of some of her favorites: A first dance to Edward Scissorhands, a Nightmare Before Nelson hashtag, and a Corpse Bride centerpiece handmade for the dessert table.
Desserts by Bella Christie were designed to fit the dark Victorian theme – ornate details, chandelier displays, and treble clef parfaits as a nod to our musical backgrounds.
The dark and dreamy florals and decor by Hens & Chicks were an absolute showstopper. A dark and muted color palette of eggplant, deep purple, dusty lavender, black, and gray. Large candelabras, creeping vines with hanging globes, metallic and mirrored details, ornate finishings and candlelight created absolute enchantment.
With the help of an all star vendor team, all of these elements in sight, sound, color, and texture seamlessly merged to create an experience that was magical, innovative, and truly reflective of our personal styles.
It was only fitting that a super moon hung in a crystal clear sky.
One publication described our wedding as “one part fantasy, one part twisted fairytale and 100% unique.”
